In my work, I pursue the idea of using landscape photography as an analogy for identity. In "Cruising," I attempt to relate my place as a newly-out queer person within San Francisco's LGBTQ community by exploring the many natural areas of the city most often used for "cruising," or the act of going to public places to have anonymous sex.
Using an SX-70 Polaroid camera, these images were shot on instant film to reflect the intimacy and immediate nature of the act.
